Free Public Demonstration: The Art of Japanese Swordsmanship

A FREE public demonstration of Japanese Swordsmanship will be held at Rogers Plaza, located just east of the John Braithwaite Centre, between the pedestrian bridge to the SeaBus and Café Tao. October 8, 2017 starting at 5pm.
Ryushin Shouchi Ryu, is a school of Japanese Swordsmanship specializing in Iaijutsu (quick-draw sword art). The origins of Ryushin Shouchi Ryu can be traced to the 16th century, to the Tenshinsho Jigen Ryu, a branch school of the traditional Katori Shinto Ryu.
The event will feature a demonstration of Japanese Swordsmanship by the current headmaster (Soke), Yahagi Kunikazu Sensei, as well as practitioners from Canada, the US, and Europe.
